Some people believe that we should only be concerned with our own communities and countries and should not help another countries when they are in need. Personally, I completely disagree with this view.

For a variety of reasons, it would be good to help the other countries when they are in need. Firstly, it will tighten the bond between the two countries. This will lead to the increasing possibility of the other countries on helping us as an exchange gesture when we need help. Because we will never know what will happen to us in the future and helping other countries will be the part of the mitigation program when we face a crisis. Secondly, it will promote the value of our country in the front of the other countries. We need to make a good image of our country in order to get an acknowledgment so that the other countries will not look at us as a threat. Finally, if we have sources to help others, why not? Besides the other diplomatic values, helping others when they are in need is an act of kindness.

In my opinion, helping other countries will always do good for us. For example, when Indonesia helped India when they are in need of an extra oxygen due to the scarcity of oxygen supply during the COVID-19 crisis. Even though India haven’t even help us during the crisis of ours, India has already thanked us for our kindness and the world has seen us to be one of the powerful countries who loves to help. This is also an expression of solidarity with India.

In conclusion, I believe that helping other communities and countries who are in need is an important thing to do because doing kindness is always brings goodness in return.
